1.  Introduction 2.  The Scheme 3.  Transport and Parking This page:  Design, Materials,
the Hotel & Next Steps

Much of the content for these pages came from the public exhibition in June 2018, and over the Summer we've listened to your feedback and redesigned some elements, which we are sharing with local groups during September and early October 2018.

Design, Materials and Next Steps

Design: We are continuing to look at appropriate materials for the development and are liaising with stakeholders to ensure the materials are suitable and sensitive to neighbouring buildings and the local area.  Out early plans use red brick and other traditional materials.

Height and massing: The proposals continue to limit the height to ground plus 3 storeys. The new open space instead of the permitted hotel has meant that the massing of the scheme as viewed from the river, Hampton Court Bridge and from the Palace is significantly reduced.

Sustainability: The proposals include sustainable measures including green roofs on the new homes.  The green roofs will be used for rain water attenuation.

Around the station

The hotel is now located on the west side of the station, adjacent to Hampton Court Way, in the area where the car dealership currently sits. The plans also include a retail store on the ground floor. This could potentially become a small food store for the local area the drop off zone for taxis and buses outside the station will also be improved and made safer.
